Stephen consistently and efficiently brings to the table exceptional executives who meet his clients’ unique functional and cultural requirements. Working across multiple industries and functional areas, his forte includes Executive Search and Career Transition/Outplacement.
In search, Stephen works with clients to develop a precisely defined candidate profile, source and evaluate candidates, and guide the hiring leader and candidate through the full recruitment lifecycle. In addition, Stephen works with individual, as well as small groups of, executives who are contemplating or in career transition, to help them secure meaningful new opportunities.
Before joining Centerstone, Stephen spent more than 20 years in chief human resources roles for Fortune 500 firms in hospitality, healthcare and telecom, directing the recruitment of C-Suite officers in multiple disciplines. Stephen most recently served as Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer for DISH Network, with prior chief HR roles at Gate Gourmet International and Advantica Restaurant Group; he also led Cigna Healthcare’s HR team in its service-operations function.
Stephen received his undergraduate degree from the College of William & Mary and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Virginia. Following law school, Stephen served as clerk to the Honorable James C. Turk, Chief U.S. District Judge for the Western District of Virginia, before joining McGuire Woods in Richmond, Virginia, where he focused on employment and labor law.
He served on the Wharton School of Business Executive Education Advisory Board, the boards of his local United Way and Boys and Girls Club, and on Cigna Healthcare’s National Accounts Client Advisory Board. He currently serves as Vice Chair of the Town on Mt Pleasant’s Board of Zoning Appeals.
